THE ANSWER TO "WHY?"
I chose to pursue Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy because of my personal experiences, dreams, and desire to help others. There are five main reasons why I am passionate about this field.
First, OT is not really well-known our country, and I want to change that. Many people don't realize how important Occupational Therapists are when it comes to improving lives. I hope to spread awareness and show others how valuable this profession is through patient care and community outreach.
Second, my sister's diagnoses of ADHD, Developmental Delays and Speech Delay always has a big impact on me. I've seen how much OTs have helped her, and it made me realize how important this profession is. Watching her journey has inspired me to help others who are going through the same struggle.
Third, want to help people to understand that OTs more than just physical rehabilitation. It also focuses on mental health, cognitive skills, and social participation. Many people don't know this, so I want to use different platforms to educate them.
Fourth, my parents have always supported me, and their encouragement has helped me believe in myself. They have worked hard to give me opportunities, and I wants to make them proud by succeeding in this field.
Finally, I dream of opening my own OT clinic one day. Not only would this be a huge accomplishment for me, but but would also provide job opportunities, including my sister, so she can contribute to the community.
In conclusion, for me this is my answer as to why I chose Occupational Therapy, because for me, OT is more than just a career choice for me--It's something I feel deeply connected to. I want to make a difference in people's live while also advocating for a profession that deserves more recognition.
